When they needed the world’s best freediving instruction, they made one call. This call was to Kirk Krack, founder of Performance Freediving International (PFI) and president/CEO of Performance Freediving Academy (PFA).

When you won’t settle for anything but the best, you have only one choice: Kirk and his team of first-rate professionals.

Experience matters. Since PFI’s formation in 2000, PFI instructors have taught over 10,000 people just like you to freedive safer, longer, and deeper. Whether you’re new to freediving or you’re an experienced water enthusiast, we are the only source you need for freediver courses, instructor certification, elite specialized training, and competition events.

We are on a single-minded mission to give you the most cutting edge scientific and training information coming out of the sport today. Performance Freediving Academy is here to create your personalized freediving experience.

We believe in quality over quantity. Grabbing the biggest market-share of the industry has never interested us. That’s why our instructor certifications are uncompromising and our rigorous safety standards and protocols continue to evolve with one thing in mind: your well-being. When you feel safe in the water, you’ll be blown away by what you can achieve.

Taking a course with us means a PFA Instructor will be within 15 ft/5 m of you on every single dive. When you come to the surface, you’ll be coached through your recovery with the calm, relaxed, confident state of mind that our instructors convey throughout all their teaching.

The PFA dive mindset gets results. Kirk has trained eight athletes who have set 24 world records. Dozens of others have set hundreds of national records. But freediving is more than competition. It’s a journey inward to see what you’re made of, to discover the potential inside yourself and infuse it into your whole life, both in and out of the water.

Whether we are diving with humpback whales in Tonga for GoPro, working with doctors and scientists who specialize in hyperbaric chamber studies, anesthesia, sports medicine, and kinesiology to further our understanding and advancement of the sport, playing with dolphins during a PFA Intermediate Freediver course in Kona, or making new friends and setting records at our annual competition in Grand Cayman, our water tribe never stops exploring. Come join us, the water’s waiting for you.

But don’t just take our word for it. See what our students say.
